Wonderful medium-sized specimen with strong body whorl dark brown/sienna pigmentation while showing ivory/antique white varices. The foliatum has excellent morphology, strong flute extensions, moderate weight/size ratio, perfect siphonal canal, aperture lip and other desirable features. The specimen is in remarkable condition for the species considering the turbulent ocean conditions in this area. Captured by Scuba diver off 14-15 meters off Santa Rosa Island, California in 11/2017 at 14-15 meters on boulders in a surrounding kelp forest. The shell shows minor wear of the protoconch and modest wear of varix edges. Grade: F+++/GEM.
