Definitely to be displayed on the ventral side with this exquisite elegance. Elongated wing really unusual. This species are really hard to get and usually they are really buried exposing only a small part of the back on the surface creating some light erosion most of the time as this one here. Light erosion on the back as usual and not really detracting the beauty of this rarity, F++-F+++. The ventral side is just stunning and the lip wall is fully colored with cream and light orange color form. The extended lip is making a great effect for this beauty. Elevated long body form. Super thick and Wide lip with the best long incredible denticles and undulated form, amazing teeth in all lip. The most exquisite unique rare massive wide aperture WOOOOW!! The most extended , thick and wide Columella ever!! For advancer collectors and lovers of this fantastic Family. Searching for these mysterious creatures for years there are some rare cases among them like this brownish colorful beauty. The best of the best for the species. One of my Favorite big shells in the pacific with so unique form and sculpture compare with all Tonas species and the biggest of the Maleas species. They are most night active , They are rarely hunting during the day. Hart to find in the day because they are most complete buried. Superb fresh piece!!! Found buried in sand under huge platforms stones about 10m deep. La Manzanillita, between la Manzanilla and El Tamarindo, Jalisco, Mexico. August 2025.
