Note | Some specimens come with extraordinary exceptions that make them stand out and are logically more striking and rare. This is the case here, and one of my favorites, with clearly pronounced, elongated spines branching all around it but exclusively on the lip. It has an exquisite elegance that is impossible not to admire. That ventral part would surely be my display in the collection. As a curious fact, the last anal spine of the lip is elegantly intertwined with the spine of the spiral in each varices. The most incredible and visible feature of this beautiful specimen is the extreme branching on the lip with an incredible edge. So sharp and so long spines. Intact apex and siphonal canal. Exceptional pattern stripes banding all around.
F+++-Gem. The best exquisite high selection for this seldom seen species. Do not miss this unique opportunity to get this real top black spiny masterpiece specimen, very selected from many dives and very difficult to clean them to reach this results, hours cleaning with ultrasonic scaler. The Muricanthus population in Barra de Navidad, Jalisco is unique, as the specimens are inside a lagoon with mangroves nearby and protected from currents, waves and directly sun light, most of them covered with algae and mud keeping their apex, spines and body generally intact, something completely different from the populations in the open sea, with much damage to their shells-spines, fully ugly and complete covered by very thick hard to remove calcareous attachments. Even so, these specimens here are incredibly rare with so much better conditions for the species, with incredible shapes and spines. Without a doubt this masterpieces are a treasure for anyone who wins it. It is much more impressive in your hands because of the details that you can't see in the photos. Super high selection in situ with the best exceptional conditions you can get for this extraordinary and seldom seen species, choose your favorite in this great auction.
