F+++. ONE OF THE MOST INTRIGUING SPONDYLUS: CANDIDUS. The spines are always short or even absent. The candidus is a truly shallow water species: it can be found from one meter deep to about 10 meters, but most live in the first three meters from the surface. And the species is highly variable, although most shells are white with a purple border on the periphery of the valves. This is a magnificent quite large ORANGE candidus with the white reduced to a small area near the umbo. Grand exception, quite a beautiful shell for this species. Rare form.
