| Note | F++/+++. A RARE SHELL FROM THE DEEP SEA. Adult anseeuwi, such as this one, are great rarities. Adult specimens usually measure over 70 mm and only a few of them have ever been caught: even in the golden years of net fishing. The present specimen has three small defects: The protoconch has been reworked 1 mm on one side and 2 mm on the other. There is a pinhole, pictured here, that does not go through the shell, and a small growth flaw on the right side of the belly, which is also visible here. Otherwise it is a fantastic, fully-grown specimen, the second largest we have ever received. Practically none are caught anymore. All in all, a “fine” specimen and one of the best Anseeuwi ever from the deep-sea era from the Philippines.
