| Note | A PAINTER'S PALETTE OF COLORS. The farreri from the Yellow Sea is a rough but always attractive species, often with small scales. We received the present shells as farreri akazara Kuroda, 1932, and the shells do indeed correspond very well to the akazara type with broad rows of scales and a rounded shape. A series of fine farreri with spectacular colors. Lips and ears are slightly chipped, but highly selected very nice quality for the species. The best the scallop collection has to offer and in reality this set is beautiful, while it is difficult to reproduce this beauty in photos. Practically impossible to put together such a set yourself. You would need hundreds of pieces.
Brown = 77.9 mm, Orange = 80.5 mm, Purple = 84.9 mm, Red = 105.1 mm, Yellow = 88.2 mm.
