GEM/GEM- Preserved with partial spines. Ultra rare and large size. Almost never offered online before by any collector or urchin specialist. Even specialized urchin book also seldom featured this specimen due to the extreme rarity.
This specimen was collected by scientific research boat in extreme depth of 712m to 1050m deep off the west side of Liuqiu island on 8th Nov 2005. The whole test is fully intact without any breakage or hole. Periproctal plates fully intact. The labrum and peristome is intact too. The peristome plates are also intact although it was slightly cut open to allow the mud/sand and any fluid to drain off and kept dried. Trace of mud stain around the labrum area can be easily cleaned off with water.
This specimen was preserved by ethanol, keeping the internal organ and partial spines intact.
This is a very rare opportunity for serious urchin collector or private museum to obtain this ultra rare species. As there is no precedent of how much this kind of ultra rare species is worth, I start it at a moderate price of 400 euro.
