| Note | Gorgeous, top drawer collectible specimen with distinctive transverse patterning, beautiful form with standout flesh/orange-toned and frosted extremities. Highly inflated, superb nacre gloss, desirable dorsal patterning and modest rostration. The shell is solid and heavy, with a high weight/size ratio and a glossy cream base. Spotting on the lateral wall and margins is esthetically impressive with excellent proportions. A specimen for the discerning collector. Lifted off a sponge, nestled on a reef wall at 58 meters by Scuba diver on the west end of the Great Australian Bight, Recherche Archipelago, South Australia. The shell exhibits a subtle/shallow 4mm wobble on the posterior ramp, labral side. Grade: GEM minus. |
