| Note | Here is a MONSTER specimen of this super hard to get species. This specimen is super solid with some rust-stained coloration of its nacre and has heavy marginal callus. It is very wide at its mid point which a characteric of this subspecies and weighs in at 63 grams. It has some patches of nacre loss on its dorsum, and areas with small nacre windows, but presents as a striking shell with its size, shape and dark coloration. Collected in 2017 whilst snorkel diving at night at Flying Fish Cove, Christmas Island Indian Ocean. |
