Item | # 0003306916 |
Family | Fissurellidae |
Name | Fissurella crassa - Interesting, Natural , Lamarck, 1822 |
Size | 65.5 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | A very nice specimen of Fissurella crassa. Large Fissurella species in northern Chile are actively collected by fishermen, so they often have nicks and damages on the border of the lip, and they are always found with scurria scars on the shells. This particular specimen is in very good condition for the species, as it has a nice border of the shell with no damages, and a natural dorsum partially covered by two species of small barnacles. A low price for an interesting specimen of Fissurella crassa. |
