Item | # 0003306878 | Family | Fissurellidae | Name | Fissurella crassa , Lamarck, 1822 |
Size | 86, 78.6, and 55 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | Three nice specimens of Fissurella crassa. Large Fissurella species in northern Chile are actively collected by fishermen, so they often have nicks and damages on the border of the lip, and they are always found with scurria scars on the shells. This lot includes 3 specimens in good condition for the species, as they have a nice border of the shell with no nicks (except 1 nick in the largest specimen), but with natural dorsums slightly eroded to eroded in the largest specimen, and with only the largest of them with a Scurria scar. A nice lot for a very low price. |
