Note | A very rare LIVE-COLLECTED specimen of this exceedingly beautiful, rare, diminutive species. Delicate yellowish ivory ground, mottled with swirling designs of caramel. Glass-like, translucent varices. Very seldom seen in this exceptional, live-collected condition, in which we can readily ascertain and appreciate its full beauty. A jewel for the Epitoniidae specialist, or collector of truly exquisite seashells. Size: 22.7 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Momi Bay, Viti Levu, Fiji; upon coral reef substrate, under coral slab amongst sand/rubble; 2-4 m; dived; 1989. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
