Note | An outstanding large specimen of the beautiful South Australian form, exhibiting supremely balanced proportions, in conjunction with an extremely broad form, and markedly flaring outer apertural lip. Pale straw, with fine spiral lines of caramel, and pure white columella and apertural interior. Rare quality. Perfect crenulated outer apertural lip. Perfect columellar 'shield'. Ultra-clean, with no encrustation, nor erosion. The BEST of the best for the Ranellidae specialist. Size: 115.9 mm (length). Grading: Gem; w/o. Data: Off Talia Caves, Elliston, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon reef/rubble substrate; 9 m; dived; 2002. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
