Note | A superb, virtually 100 mm specimen of this coveted endemic southern Australian species. Rare perfection of columellar shield, extremely elongate siphonal canal, and fully mature, greatly thickened and glossed outer apertural lip. Mammillate protoconch intact. Beautiful colour and pattern: creamy cinnamon, caramel, and ivory. The siphonal canal is atypically elongate, recurved and graceful. Very difficult to obtain this size and quality now. Size: 99.5 mm (length). Grading: Gem; w/o. Data: Off Kingston SE, Lacepede Bay, South Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate; 8 m; dived; 1994. |
