Item | # 0002392098 |
Family | Mitridae |
Name | Eumitra vincentiana - The Real deal! , Verco, 1896 |
Size | 23.2 & 29.1 mm |
Locality | Weeroona Bay, Portsea, Victoria |
Note | The true Mitra vincentiana as described by Verco in 1896. This is often listed as a synonym of Turriplicifer australe (Swainson, 1820) but it is nothing like that species. Genuinely rare we occasionally encounter specimens crawling on rubble @12-18m in far Southern Port Phillip Bay at night. On offer here are two specimens found as a mated pair i.e. a male & female. 23.2 & 29.1mm in size. Graded F++ they could probably do with a bit more cleaning & oiling (these are not oiled). Two rare specimens seldom offered that will be of interest to Mitridae specialist collectors.
