Note | A fabulous giant specimen from the ‘old days’ of collecting, of exemplary quality for such size. Characteristic pronounced, slightly noded whorl periphery. Exquisite delicate pink throughout, with maculations of pale orangish tan, and bold accents of rich chestnut to recurvature of lip. Typical slight loss to siphonal canal. Now obtainable only from old collections, and almost never at this rare size. Size: 95 mm (length). Grading: F+++. Data: Henty Reef, Apollo Bay, Victoria, Australia; upon sand/rubble substrate; 60-80 m; craypot; 1979. |
