Size | 74.9 mm, w/o |

Note | One of the largest, BEST and most beautiful specimens I have ever handled of the seldom offered Sydney form of this endemic north-eastern Australian species. Particularly beautiful colour: rich pink-peach-apricot, with accents of caramel. Ultra-large size. Ultra-inflated. Fully mature, thickened, ‘rolled’ and glossed outer apertural lip. Typical very minor trawl fraying, but overall exemplary quality. In a different league to most specimens offered, and definitely for the Cassidae specialist. Size: 74.9 mm (length). Grading: F++++; w/o. Data: Off North-East of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; upon sand substrate; 100-120 m; trawled; 2004. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
