Item | # 0002265877 | Family | Conidae | Name | Conus anemone peronianus - RED-PINK GIANT; THE BEST , Iredale, 1931 |
Size | 73.2 mm, w/o |
Locality | Australia |
Note | The BEST red-pink giant specimen I have ever seen. Indescribable colour, of an intensity seen in only very few specimens. The specimen is also of the highest possible quality for this ultra-delicate, usually badly scarred species, with nothing but the most minor, utterly negligible typical lines. Protocinch intact. Now obtainable only from choice old collections, and almost never like this. The BEST peronianus from my private collection for the Conidae connoisseur. Size: 73.2 mm (length). Grading: F++++; w/o. Data: Thorny Passage, Port Lincoln, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon granite reef substrate, amongst coarse sand/gravel; 6-10 m; dived; 1994. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
