Note | This rare, diminutive, endemic eastern Australian species is with question the most coveted of all Australian Haliotis species, especially when in such exceptional condition and exhibiting such rich and beautiful colour as the current example. Extremely difficult to obtain now, especially at this level of quality, coming mainly from old collections. Definitely for the Haliotidae specialist or admirer of exquisite seashells. Size: 23 mm (longest dimension). Grading: F++++. Data: Off Mona Vale, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; upon reef substrate, at outer reef fringe, under slab; 2-3 m; dived; 1989.
