| Note | SPECIAL FULGETRUM FEATURE: This sale features a selection of rare and unusual forms from my private collection of fulgetrum variants. A unique opportunity for the Volutidae specialist. SPECIMEN 1. A large specimen of the rare Kangaroo Island form. This extreme eastern form exhibits a far broader body whorl to all other forms, markedly expanded at the periphery. These shells are also exceedingly solid and heavy for their size. Almost patternless, save sporadic reduced axial streaks of caramel at the sutures. Typical micro loss only towards anterior of outer apertural lip and at siphonal canal. One axial growth disruption to body whorl, (detailed image upon request), yet all of the few Kangaroo Island specimens I have seen have exhibited such disruptions, and this is the ONLY specimen of this rare form I have to offer. Probably the rarest of fulgetrum forms, now available only from old collections. Size: 116 mm (length). Grading: F++.
