Note | A very large and superb specimen of the big Sir Joseph Banks Group form, exhibiting a distinct mantle-line delineated by numerous coalescent, ultra-dark chestnut maculae, across a bluish purple ground. The specimen is just attaining maturity, so does not quite present the ultra-heavy ventrum of slightly older individuals. Now obtainable only from choice old collections. Size: 80.3 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Reevesby Island, Sir Joseph Banks Group, South Australia, Australia; upon sand/rubble/sponge substrate, upon sponge; 3 m; dived; 1994. |
