Note | A unique and spectacular specimen, from an uncommon locality, exhibiting a striking pattern, including a distinct mantle line delineated by fine maculae, and two expansive clouds of ultra-rich caramel-tan. The specimen exhibits the small size and truncated, recurved posterior terminal characteristic of the subspecies. Just attaining maturity. Definitely for the advanced Umbilia specialist. Size: 59 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Kiama, New South Wales, Australia; upon mud/sand/detritus substrate; 100-140 m; trawled; 1984. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
