Note | The BEST specimen I have ever handled of this endemic north-western Australian species, exhibiting atypical and beautiful colour: rich orange-apricot, with accents of caramel. Exceedingly long spihonal canal in an exceptional state of preservation. Glassy mammillate protoconch intact. The BEST of the best. Size: 53.1 mm (length). Grading: Gem; w/o. Data: Off Dampier, Western Australia, Australia; upon mud/sand substrate amongst reef; 15 m; dived; 2001. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
