Note | A long time ago, Latiaxis teramachii was rare. However, it came to be supplied from the Philippines recently. Also it was recently found off the Northern Coast of Western Australia, being particularly rare from this location. On offer is one such specimen, trawled of the Rowley Shoal, N.W. Australia in 380M. Dead collected but entirely in tact with ornamented scaly spiral cords, and one of the spiral cord on the shoulder of each boby swirl much larger. The scientific name and Japanese name are connected to Akibumi Teramachi. He is a painter in Kyoto Japan. He stayed near the sea for medical treatment, and found some shells on the beach. So he was interested in shells. Collecting shells in the Tosa bay was famous among his activities. He rented the house near the fishing port, stayed long time, and collected many shells. |
