Size | 78.1 mm |

Note | A specimen of rare quality for this usually very rough, deep-water trawled species. The majority of specimens of this southern Australian endemic species are rather drab and unattractive, with perhaps only one per hundred possessing the beauty of the current specimen. Beautiful, elongate, pink spines in an exemplary state of preservation. Rich yellow at the umbos. Now obtainable only from old collections. Definitely for the Spondylidae specialist, or collector of exquisite seashells. Size: 78.1 mm (longest dimension). Grading: F+++. Data: Off Lakes Entrance, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia; upon mud/sand/detritus substrate; 220 m; trawled; 1982. |
