Size | 120.7 mm |
Locality | Australia |
Note | The most exquisite betulinus I have ever handled. Ultra-big for a Mozambique specimen. Superb condition for such an old age, enormous shell: virtual perfection, with only typical minor fraying to outer apertural lip, in its natural state with no artificial smoothing. Apex well preserved. Ultra-clean, with no encrustation or erosion to spire. Yet, the element which really makes this specimen outstanding is its exceptional and beautiful pattern. Common in its average Philippine form, but rare like this. Size: 120.7 mm (length). Grading: Data: Maputo Bay, off Inhaca Island, Mozambique; upon sand/rubble substrate; 6-8 m; dived; 1984. |
