Note | A large and outstanding specimen of the rare Marquesan form, the most beautiful incarnation of the species, and, in my opinion, the most beautiful of all terebrids. Fine typical fraying to outer apertural lip, left in its natural state, with no artificial smoothing. The BEST. Size: 100.1 mm (length). Grading: F++++. Data: Taioha’e Bay, Nuku Hiva, Marquesas Islands; upon black sand/silt/coral rubble substrate; 16 m; dived; 1996. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
