Size | 111.3 mm |

Note | NOTE: Special sales dispersing exceptional specimens from my private collection, along with highlights from my high quality stock, will continue indefinitely, without this initial notice. ERICUSA FULGETRUM: Specimens from this locality, (quite uncommon), are usually small, and exhibit atypically thickened walls, giving the shell a far greater weight to size ratio than those from any other locality. Slight trawl loss to anterior, and a couple of light growth disruptions, but this is the ONLY specimen I have to offer of the highly individual Coles Point form. Rich yellow-cream apertural interior. Tiny dots of reddish chestnut in a spiral band upon early whorls. Perfect, fully mature 'rolled' and glossed outer apertural lip. A form lacking in the vast majority of Volutidae collections. Size: 111.3 mm (length). Grading: F++. Data: Off Coles Point, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon coarse sand/rubble substrate, at night; 22 m; dived; 1994. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
