ZOILA ROSSELLI: An ultra-large and outstanding specimen of the Cape le Grand form of this classic endemic Australian species. Seldom offered from this uncommon locality, the specimen was collected by the late Peter Clarkson, (author of ‘Australia’s Spectacular Cowries’), although, unfortunately, no original hand-written Clarkson label accompanies the specimen. Clarkson provenance is established however, as it was Clarkson who discovered the richness of molluscan fauna at Cape le Grand, and this locality became a special area of intense activity for Clarkson. Cape le Grand extends across a large portion of coastline, and Clarkson maintained secrecy over specific sites within this region. The area now forms the Cape le Grand National Park, and no fresh specimens will be available in future. Ultra-dark chestnut, with pale honey-ivory dorsal 'window', and particularly pure porcellaneous white to interstices of apertural dentition. A special rosselli for the Zoila connoisseur.
