UMBILIA ARMENIACA: This incredible giant, virtually touching the much coveted 110 mm threshold, exhibits perfection of form, in conjunction with truly magnificent ultra-rich colour. Massive, markedly spherical body whorl, greatly contributing to its overall monumental appearance. Hypermature, with great weight to size ratio, and pronounced dorsal ridging. Its less than Gem grading is only upon account of typical inclusions to the ventrum, (image available upon request), yet these are completely hidden in display, and are a natural aspect of many giant armeniaca. In all other respects the specimen is perfection. Few super sized Great Australian Bight specimens were found, and this size is simply no longer available, coming now only from choice old collections. Meticulously curated, with the appearance of having been collected this year, its colour remains as rich, and its gloss as resplendent, as the day it was collected. For the Umbilia specialist, or collector of rare giant sized shells. Size: 109.7 mm (length). Grading: F+++.
