Another opportunity to acquire outstanding and unique seashells from one of the world’s pre-eminent collections. CYMBIOLISTA HUNTERI: An exceptional specimen of a rare intermediate between the typical and patternless forms. Pale palette, with distinct peach-orange bands, and a markedly reduced pattern. Quite an exquisite seashell. Exemplary state of preservation. As opposed to the usual very heavy trawl damage to the outer apertural lip, (upon account of its delicate nature), the current specimen exhibits virtual perfection in this respect. One minor growth disruption, completely hidden upon ventrum. (Image available upon request.) The BEST of the best of a rare form for the Volutidae specialist. Size: 132.3 mm (length). Grading: F+++.
