Another opportunity to acquire outstanding and unique seashells from one of the world’s pre-eminent collections. SPONDYLUS CLARKSONI: An outstanding specimen of this most coveted of Australian Spondylus. Multitudinous spatulate spines in an exemplary state of preservation. Painstakingly cleaned to reveal its exquisite beauty. Pure white, with yellow, pink and red towards the umbos. Rich, reddish pink at the base of certain spines. (See top of above right image.) The specimen also has an interesting and beautiful little vivid pink Mytilus sp. attached to the underside. (See bottom of above right image.) Now very difficult to obtain, and seldom offered in this quality. The BEST of the best for the Spondylidae specialist, or admirer of truly exquisite seashells. (Note: To provide adequate protection in a very large parcel, I will round down postage for this specimen to 35 EUR to anywhere in the world.) Size: 117.4 mm (longest dimension). Grading: F++++.
