CYMBIOLACCA PULCHRA SUBELONGATA: One of the BEST specimens I have ever handled of this rare, deep-water endemic Queensland species. Ultra-large size. Ultra-rich colour, with supremely well-formed pattern. Usually with heavy growth damage and other flaws, the current specimen has but one small disruption near the outer apertural lip, (image available upon request), but is otherwise perfection. Perfect, thickened, fully mature outer apertural lip and siphonal canal. Discovered during the legendary 1980s Queensland trawls, and now obtainable only from old collections. Size: 92.7 mm (length). Grading: F++++. Data: Off Lady Musgrave Island, Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia; upon mud/sand/rubble substrate; 80-120 m; trawled; 1982.
