AMORIA UNDULATA: Six high quality specimens from my collection of undulata variants, illustrating six different forms, from six different localities, are offered in this sale. Specimen 5: A superb specimen of the Lake Tyers form of this endemic Australian species. Examples from this region have a markedly slender shell, and exhibit rich ground colour of creamy orange. Particularly dense and well-formed pattern. Perfect, thickened, ‘rolled’ and glossed outer apertural lip and siphonal canal. Size: 78.9 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Lake Tyers, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia; upon mud/sand substrate; 60-100 m; trawled; 1986. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
