Item | # 0002118987 | Family | Volutidae | Name | Amoria exoptanda - HUGE, QUALITY SPECIMEN. , (Reeve, L.A., 1849) |
Size | 109.6 mm |
Locality | Port Lincoln, South Australia. |
Note | A wonderful, HUGE specimen rarely collected today.
South Australia has no professional specimen shell divers today and most South Australian collectors do not dive these regions for exoptanda. It also requires night diving and this is rarely undertaken. A great specimen with natural characteristic growth steps or rings if you like. No growthlines, but a little bit of anterior lip chipping, but minimal and still with normal shape and has been glossed over by animal. Diver collected at night, 20M on sand, Thorny Passage, Port Lincoln, South Australia. |
