CYPRAEA XANTHODON: This highly unusual specimen was the partner to the rare red terminals specimen sold in the previous auction. It is the ONLY specimen I have to offer of this colour form: pronounced chocolate terminals, with chocolate colour extending some degree along margins, (see above left image). Definitely for the Cypraeidae specialist interested unusual variations. Size: 32.5 mm (length). Grading: F++++. Data: Clairview, Queensland, Australia; upon reef substrate, under coral slab at low tide; 1982. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
