| Note | EXTRA SPECIAL SALE - PART 4: Part four of my extra special sales comprised entirely of exceptional specimens from my private collection, representing highlights of my collecting and dealing career. Another opportunity to acquire outstanding and unique seashells from one of the world’s pre-eminent collections. ZOILA DECIPIENS: The second specimen of a pair from my private collection, (the other having been sold in a recent auction), of the Taiwanese trawled decipiens, with its characteristic pale, stippled dorsum, hinting towards its relationship to perlae. This specimen exhibits a rare and particularly beautiful phenomenon, in having an incredibly multi-faceted dorsal surface, with the facets arrayed in spiral bands, creating a bejewelled appearance across the entire dorsal surface. (See above left image.) A favourite decipiens within my private collection upon this account. Extremely well-curated, with the appearance of having been collected this year. A product of the legendary 1970s Taiwanese trawls, and now obtainable only from old collections. For the advanced Zoila specialist whose collection yet lacks this distinctive and sought after form.
