MITRA GLABRA: This even larger partner to the giant I sold in a recent auction constitutes the new official World Record Size for this endmic southern Australian species. (Information verified at wrs-shells.com upon 13 August 2018). Typically in poor condition at any size, with erosion and serious growth damage, the current specimen, by contrast, exhibits but one very light axial growth disruption and a little natural fraying to the outer apertural lip. It is otherwise of exceptional quality for such giant size. A special shell for the advanced Mitridae connoisseur, or collector of WRS shells. Size: 97.2 mm (length). Grading: F+++.
