FamilyConidae
NameConus kulkulkan - dark & light orange , (Petuch, 1980)
Size28.5 mm
LocalityBay Islands, Honduras
NoteThis is a truly beautiful shell and one that is increasingly rare now since divers have stopped going to Roatan Island, the only place that it is found. The color but our lights have thrown the color in the pictures off. The dorsum is actually a rich shade of orange, less red than we were able to get with our equipment and the ventral side is a lighter orange shade. The shell is perfect, no scars, but a few really small chips along the edge of the lip.
