NoteMost andreyi we have found have been in 220 to 250 metres on the shoulder of the continental slope. Occasionally we find a specimen in shallow water on the continental shelf. While these shells reflect the same color range of the deeper water shells they are invariably much smaller. This specimen was collected in 138 metres of water south west of Augusta. It was a dead taken crabbed shell. It is a rare color form similar to the original type andreyi collected off Mandurah. It has a china white base and a mottled tan dorsum. The shell has no natural defects such as a growth or chip. It was dead collected but exhibits well.
