Note | Six enormous specimens from three different Great Barrier Reef localities, from the ?old days? of collecting. All fully mature, with markedly thickened outer apertural lips, and great weight to size ratios. All well-curated over the decades with fresh-looking gloss. A few natural micro irregularities upon a couple of specimens, but with most being Gem. Beautiful pastel colours of peach, amethyst and ivory. For the Olividae specialist whose collection yet lacks examples of these big, impressive shells. Size: 49.8 - 38.2 mm (length). Grading: F++++/Gem. Data: Rudder Reef (2), & Sykes Reef (2), & Dingo Beach (2), Queensland, Australia,; upon sand substrate, at night; 1984-1985. |
